Scott Sheen - New British Columbia Representative for the Northwind Team
The VAFC is pleased to announce that Mark Block (Senior Coach - Northwind) has elected Scott Sheen (VAFC 2008 Senior Coach) to be the British Columbia Representative for the Northwind Team. Scott is well suited to this role having successfully coached at many levels including recent involvement as VAFC senior coach. With two NWPAFL Grand Final victories under his belt Scott should be able to offer some considerable experience to the Northwind Side. Scott will likely be travelling to Australia in August 2008 with the Northwind Team to compete in the International Cup in Victoria, Australia.

If you are interested in what it takes to become a player in the Northwind (Canadian National Side) feel free to contact Scott at scottandjanelle@hotmail.com.

Congratulaions Scott and all the best for this 2008 season on a National Level!
________________________________

British Columbia's involvement in Australian Football at a National level in Canada has received some recent boosts as AFL Canada elected Darryl Perry (Coquitlam) and Peter Campion (Richmond) to the positions of President and Vice President of AFL Canada's 2008 Board.

These positions were available following the departure of Mike McFarlane (VAFC Past Player Alumni and Life Member of BCfooty) as President after Mike served several years at the helm of the National board and has opted to focus on matters closer to home. Mike continues his AFL passion with his pride and joy Delta Junior league and will no doubt continue to grow that amazing junior competition. The VAFC wishes to thank Mike for his past efforts as AFL Canada President and wish him all the best for his future involvement in footy!

Darryl Perry is a relatively new arrival in BC after leaving Toronto (but we'll claim him as a local!) and has already indicated that growing football in Canada is a real priority. He has seen the VAFC, BAFC and some of the NWPAFL games and is keen to foster footy growth in the North West too.

Peter Campion has been heavily involved in football in BC since its inception and also Seattle. As a player and board member of the VAFC Peter has always strived to put footy first and make whatever decisions are needed to make playing footy enjoyable for all participants - regardless of skill or club loyalty. Peter has also been a keen member of the umpires guild and whenever needed puts on the whites to make the game a success. Peter is truly an all round footy guy!

The VAFC would like to extend congratulations to Darryl and Peter as they undertake their roles - naturally, keeping a vested interest in BC and the future of footy in all of Canada!
